MAY 2023: TABBY’S PLACE
In April of 1999, my wife and I learned that our beloved cat, Tabby, had untreatable cancer and only months to live. The painful realization of Tabby’s impending death gave me pause to think: What was I doing with my life? Was I really making a difference? How could I honor Tabby, who had spent 15 years with us?
I resigned from my job and committed myself to creating Tabby’s Place: a Cat Sanctuary, in memory of our boy. Four years later, Tabby’s Place officially began its mission.
April 2023: Rafiki’s Rescue

Saving lives starts with you! Yes, you are a huge part of rescue and we need your support to do what we do! Visit our 'Volunteer' or 'Donate" pages, or simply share our social media online, to help us continue this necessary work. Rescue takes a village!

Frosted Faces Foundation was born from a love of dogs. It sounds so simple. We adopted our first two dogs, bonded five years olds Fritz and Gus, and loved them beyond measure. As we came to understand that dogs like them were being surrendered by their guardians, not offered the accommodations or medical care they deserved, it moved us to develop a solution. Our motto to this day is, “To love, is to act.”

MAY 2022: MAC’S MISSION
Mac's Mission "specializes in special." Our focus is on homeless "janky" dogs who are in medical crisis and would die without the life-saving care we are able to provide. Our “all-in” mission is for animals who have suffered at the hands of abuse, gravely injured, or were simply born with a genetic defect. Most shelters and rescues do not have the time or resources to provide specialized care and, unfortunately, many animals are euthanized as a result. Our hope is to give these animals the chance they need to heal and thrive in a nurturing and loving environment. Our goal is to heal them and find the perfect forever family for them to live their best life.

DECEMBER 2021: ALWAYS AND FUREVER MIDWEST SANCTUARY
Imagine a place where old dogs, sick dogs, abused dogs, abandoned dogs, and unwanted dogs all came together, to rest, to live, to play and snuggle. Where meals come morning and night, classical music is always playing and love overflows. The only choice they have to make is which couch or dog bed to lay on and which visitor to pick to smother with kisses. Just a place for dogs to be. To wait in the comforts of a home until they can find a family of their own who won’t throw them away when they are old or sick or even dying. To know they are loved for who they are, at this moment, and then to love us in return regardless of their past. To be the model of forgiveness and in return teach us to be better, kinder humans and to always know that even if in a small way we can always make a difference. This is the place we strive to be. This is our mission. This is our little red barn. A home for so many souls others discarded and we can’t imagine living without.

Dalis To The Rescue
Dalis Hitchcock, owner of D-Tails Dog and Cat Grooming Salon, has had a passion for animals her entire life. She has gradually started rescuing animals, while running a full-time business and raising her two daughters.
Over the past few years, support for Dalis has exploded, and her vision of saving animals has transformed. As a result, D-Tails Dog and Cat Grooming Salon has been enhanced to include a rescue through the support and donations from community members. Each year, she is able to spay & neuter, get critical medical care, and adopt out hundreds of animals including dogs, cats, and birds. She, and her partner-in-crime, David, have had a hand in rescuing several large animals, rehabilitating inured wild animals, and reuniting lost pets with their owners, including an 8-foot red tail boa constrictor! There is no rescue that is too big or too small - Dalis & David rise up to the challenge to be a voice for animals that have none. If there is an animal in need, Dalis & David come to the rescue! In addition to rescuing animals, Dalis also offers home relocation assistance to community members who may have a need for temporary boarding of a beloved pet during a move, assistance with vet bills, and community programs to help ensure all animals have a warm place to sleep throughout the harsh Michigan winters.
August 2021: Joey’s P.A.W.
From the founders of Joey’s P.A.W.:
“Charlie and I (Tanya) have a heart for the dogs that have been literally starved, abused, thrown away, and for breeders, wanting to kill them, because they are unable to make a profit from them. For us, those are the most beautiful dogs out there.
We see a dog, not a disability. We have 6 dogs with a wide range of issues; Idiopathic Head Tremors, Idiopathic Epilepsy, food issues from being starved, mental issues, blindness, heart murmur, skin issues with scars, prosthetic leg, and we had a paralyzed dog in a wheelchair.
We will always have special needs dogs in our family. We just want people to see that it may take more time and attention with a special needs dog but the amount of joy, happiness and just plain love that we have received from each and everyone of them has turned our world upside down. Our lives will never be the same again!”
